The exhibition by an internationally known designer, Ilona Rista, showcases new kind of Finnish wood culture. The wood artist’s playful approach to digital materials has produced a fun, yet serious collection of material and immaterial works that combine wood art with technology. The exhibition will be held at the Craft Museum of Finland’s Lobby Gallery 12 September–5 December 2020.

Please stay at home if you have any symptoms of flu. If you feel yourself sick, stay at home and contact via phone the city theatre ticket office (tel. 014 266 0110) to change or return your ticket. You can change or return your concert ticket without refund exceptionally even on the concert day.
Since the beginning of 2013, the Municipality of Laukaa has been responsible for the rural services administration of the City of Jyväskylä through the so-called host municipality model.

A service voucher is one way of organizing the municipality's statutory social and health care services. Getting a service voucher requires an assessment of the need for care or services, as well as a service decision or referral. After receiving the service voucher decision, the customer selects the service provider, and agrees to purchase the service with a service producer of their choice approved by the city. The use of service vouchers is regulated by the Act on Social and Health Care Service Vouchers (569/2009).

In its procurements, the City of Jyväskylä complies with public procurement legislation and the city's own guidelines, such as the administrative regulations and the procurement guidelines.
The City of Jyväskylä's tendering services acts as a consulting expert organisation for the city service sectors, and public utility companies. In addition, it is responsible for the centralised procurement of goods and services by the City of Jyväskylä, i.e. the so-called joint procurement.

The City of Jyväskylä uses business service vouchers to promote the growth and development of companies. The business service voucher encourages growth-oriented companies to develop their business more systematically and on a larger scale, and to utilize various expert services.
The business service vouchers are intended for SMEs operating in the city area (domicile and / or office located in Jyväskylä).

The City of Jyväskylä annually sells or leases approximately 80 plots for single-family houses. New plots are usually handed out in the spring and autumn. Otherwise, available plots may be applied for on a monthly basis. As a rule, a separate application form is used for applying for city lots. The city also sells lots on the basis of competitive tendering.
The City of Jyväskylä offers companies an abundant but varying range of corporate plots next to the best traffic connections.
Land leasing, land use permits

Market trade is carried out in several locations in the City. Saleable products include vegetables, berries, fish, pastries and handicrafts.
The Market Square sales spots, the second-hand sales spots on Sepänaukio Square and Christmas tree sales spots are subject to a price specified annually by the City, but the spots at other sales locations do not involve a fee.

What does the past of handicrafts look like in the eyes of modern designers, and what kind of inspiration can be drawn from the collection at the museum? The designers invited to the In Good Hands exhibition have had the chance to explore the extensive archives, founded in 1879, of the Friends of Finnish Handicraft at the Design Museum. After this they have created their works in dialogue with the archive materials.

The Fifty-sixty crowdfunding experiment is a new participatory funding model that the City of Jyväskylä offers through the Mesenaatti.me website for the use of the residents. The people in Jyväskylä can come up with ideas for projects that they want to start with crowdfunding. The projects can get the City of Jyväskylä as one of their financiers.

19.9.2020-14.3.2021 Journey to the Heartlands
The exhibition presents new contemporary art, performances, lectures and workshops. The theme of the exhibition curated by Rickard Borgström is Notions of Place – From Belonging to Displacement. The exhibition features 29 Finnish and international artists/artist duos and extends to four exhibition venues in Central Finland.

Climate change is shaping our environment at great speed and at the same time is defining the future of world in which we live. Our youth could not alter the course of climate change when it was still possible, and this brings up important questions: Do we have the right to feel scared, angry or hope? Who is responsible for the future? What can we demand from others as well as from ourselves? What kind of future will our generation have?

3.6.-6.9.2020 Art Space Ilmiö
Moritz Müller is a Finnish-German young artist whose work explores independence, complex emotions, and identity through portrait photography, music, and makeup.
Müller began his artistic journey in 2016, starting with make up. He soon expanded to self-portrait photography shortly after. Music on the other hand has always been a part of Müller's life, but it wasn't until he published his first songs in 2019 that he began considering music a part of his artistic career.

Jyväskylä Art Museum
3rd June–6th September 2020
Extensive exhibition by renowned landscape photographer features around 40 works, many of them taken in the age-old landscapes of Central Finland.
Pekka Luukkola creates intense photographs that feature seashore or lakeside views. The blue-toned pictures taken at dusk also include the element of fire, tracking the path of someone moving on the water, presented as a photographic trace. The calm pictures invite us to consider the passage of time and the importance of nature to humanity.

2.6.-18.6.2020
Like It Or Not, Blue Anthropometries is a participative installation consisting of blue ink pads along with the request for visitors to put their thumbprints on dedicated wall, or not.
The installation alludes to Facebook and the tyranny of liking. Like It Or Not is not an affirmation but an interrogation, questioning our ability to choose. It evokes thumbprint signature both as a biometric technology and as a necessity within illiterate context: in our all-icon age where the image tend to stand for the word.

2020 Exhibitions at the Craft Museum of Finland celebrate craftsmanship from many perspectives. The exhibitions focus on Finnish textile expertise but are complemented by delicious finesses from the miniature world and traditional woodworking. The exhibitions feature internationally renowned designers and craftsmen to celebrate the free movement of ideas and thoughts in the crafts world. Technology and even game design have been added alongside many traditional skills, giving new insights into techniques already forgotten.

The My Forest exhibition, created in collaboration with the Finnish Crafts Organization Taito, presents the Finnish people’s relationship with forests, wood as a material, and the forest as a space – not forgetting crafts, naturally. The exhibition will be at the 2nd-floor auditorium of the Craft Museum of Finland from 3 June to 30 August 2020, at CraftCorner in Helsinki 4–29 September 2020, and at the Pro Puu Gallery in Lahti in 3–30 October 2020. .
