Aim of the project
The basis for the project is the need to increase workshops and possibilities for rehabilitation for young people. The aim is to prevent increasing problems, to provide strong support in transitional phases and to increase alternative waysto study and find a place in the society.
City of Jyväskylä’s development platforms
Kangas is a new, ecological district near Jyväskylä city centre. The old paper mill area will turn to a home to 5 000 inhabitants and 2 100 new jobs. A number of businesses and residents have already moved into the area.
Hippos2020 - A sports and wellness centre, Finland's largest hub for sports, exercise and professional athletics. Of the EUR 220-250 million investment, nearly 90% is covered by private investors.
When completed, Hippos will become the most prominent Nordic center of exercise, sport, top-level sport, health promotion, well-being and events. Jyväskylä's Hippos2020 also combines sports research and technological product development into an internationally important assembly.
At the fastest rate, Hippos2020 can be completed by the year 2022. When completed, Hippos will be a central attraction for the Capital of Sport, Jyväskylä.
